This summer my boyfriend and I went on an adventure to Montréal. In addition to exploring the cobblestoned streets of Old Montreal and perusing the art of the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal we also got to experience fine dining at a Harry Potter Bar and got to experience the beauty of a Hobbit themed garden.
Our first day in Montréal we hopped on the subway over to the bus station that would take us to Windsor Park, Dorval. We ambled around the Atwater Market while we waited for the bus to arrive. It took us about half an hour to reach Dorval and the bus stopped steps away from the park.
We were fortunate enough to be the only ones there that day and took so many pictures!
It was amazing to get to see a Hobbit hole without having to fly all the way to New Zealand, but what really took your breath away was the sculpture of Smaug that sat atop the hole in the ground.
Although I always wanted to be an elf, I am short enough to be at home in a Hobbit hole!
On day two, after spending HOURS looking at the amazing art in the museum, we made our way to the Lockhart Bar. The bar was easy enough to spot with its adorable wooden sign with its logo, a stag head.
Inside the building was decorated with blue walls and ceilings with the moon and stars, owls, eagles, lions, and serpents were also painted on the walls.
The bar had a neon sign promising potions and elixirs, and I have to say their drinks did not disappoint!
A menu that looked like it could have been used in a Potions class was handed out. I had the rib eye poutine with a Better Beer.
The Better Beer was very strong! I loved the mug it came in and the toasted marshmallow on the side. The food was delicious, the drinks were amazing, and the decor evoked the magical world of Harry Potter.
